Obsessions of the Week - 10/25/13
Dan + Shay
If you haven't heard their debut single "19 You + Me" on your country radio yet, you're about to. These two guys can write a great country song, and Shay's got pipes for days. It seems like everything has happened so fast for them, and I couldn't be more proud. In Nashville, you get the opportunity to watch a several careers blossom, and I'm excited for what the future holds for Dan + Shay.
Watch Here - 19 You + Me (Lyric Video) - hands down the best lyric video I've ever seen
I feel like Lissie and I share the same dream of being Stevie Nicks when we grow up. I've known about her for a while now, thanks to her haunting cover of "Go Your Own Way" but her recent album "Back To Forever" has my full attention. Sure, she sounds like the incredible frontwoman of Fleetwood Mac, but Lissie can hold her own. Tracks 1-3 pack a solid punch but I really connected with the gut-wrenching "They All Want You". Her newest effort is a solid record from front to back, but I do favor the top half.

STILL OBSESSED WITH - The 1975
I'm still reeling from seeing The 1975 twice in one day, a few weeks back. I was fortunate enough to see them in an intimate, acoustic performance at 107.5 The River on a Saturday afternoon. Matty played "Chocolate" and "Sex" and you could've heard a pin drop in that room. Later that day I made the drive out to Short Mountain Distillery and caught them headlining the final night of the inaugural Music In The Middle Festival. I didn't think it was possible for those four dudes to sound better than they did on the record, BUT THEY DID. I'm almost on a One Direction Fandom level of obsession with these Brits and their music. Do you think they sell folders with their faces on them overseas? I hope so.
