Obsessions Of The Week - 3/14/14
It pains me that I wasn't able to attend SXSW again this year, due to about a million things. If you're still itching for some amazing coverage, check out my bud's adventures over at SceneSC.
12 Stories - Brandy Clark
This one is my bad. I dragged my feet on checking out Brandy Clark's album. I knew she was a gifted songwriter and I'd heard her single (Stripes)... but that was about it. I finally got my hands on this record last week, and haven't really stopped listening to it. "What'll Keep Me Out Of Heaven" and "Get High" are my favorites on this album. If her name sounds familiar, it's probably because she's co-written a handful of very successful country songs over the past few years. Kacey Musgraves, Leann Rimes, Keith Urban and The Band Perry (to name a few) trust and love Brandy's songwriting... you should too!

MYRTLE BEACH HARDCORE! Wait, what? I first learned about this band when I was still in high school, in Charleston, SC... back when they were "THE Hundredth". In fact, a quick skim of my iTunes informed me that I own a 2006 Sampler of theirs. So yeah, they've been on my radar for a while. Apparently they reorganized and dropped the "the" back in 2008. Ever since then they've been killing it (especially overseas). I had the chance to see them again this past Sunday, thanks to my bud Gordon, who is filling in on drums for them right now. I hadn't been to a hardcore show in ages, but I throughly enjoyed their set. Hundredth's new EP "Resist" is out March 25th. Keep an ear out for it, if that's your kind of thing.

STILL OBSESSED: Gasoline Heart
I don't quite remember when I got into Gasoline Heart, but I feel like Atlanta / the Death on Two Wheels boys had something to do with it. For some reason last year, I latched onto their song "Everything Matters" and would sing it to my poor roommate on repeat. To the point that she would make fun of me. Cool, thanks Kelsey. Anyways, I got really excited that they're playing here on Sunday, as I haven't seen them in ages. So I dove back into their catalogue this week. If anyone wants to join me at the End on 3/16, that'd be great. Thanks!
