Ed Sheeran - Sing
Is this the part where I wax poetic about how I first saw Ed Sheeran a few years ago at SXSW and he played to like, noone and then a few weeks later he came through and opened for Needtobreathe (I think?) at the Ryman? And now he's an international superstar? Okay, now that that's out the way... Ed Sheeran is pretty awesome, and seems like a great guy to work with. I've always kind of been a fan. I am REALLY A FAN of this new song. I hope the rest of the record is heading in this direction. It's just fun. That simple.

St Paul & The Broken Bones
I listen to a lot of pop country, mostly for work purposes, and it's not all great. Okay, most of it isn't great. I still love country music (even current country music), but sometimes it's nice to listen to something completely different. That's where St Paul and The Broken Bones come in. They're helping me pass the time while I wait for a new Allen Stone record. Motown-ish, killer vocals and the record is fun to listen to in its entirety. AND they were just nominated for Emerging Act Of The Year for 2014 from the Americana Music Association’s Honors & Awards. I wish them the best of luck this Fall.

STILL OBSESSED - Owen Beverly (NEW MUSIC!)
Originally from Missisippi, Owen Beverly was welcomed by the South Carolina music scene when he moved to Charleston to study music. He was prominent in the Charleston scene when I was in high school. I guess you could say it was then when I first fell in love with his music. He always seemed to be around and playing shows with the likes of Joel Hamilton (Mechanical River, The Working Title) and Cary Ann and Michael (Shovels & Rope), among many others. He's an incredible songwriter. EXAMPLE - Legs and Scars
It's been 6 years since he's released a solo record. Moving to NYC and recording with French Camp and Oh, Land kept Beverly busy during that time. I'm beyond excited that we're getting new music though! He's released a video for the first single from an forthcoming album. Check out "Postcard" below. Then make a countdown for the full record release (hopefully in September).
